CREATE Card with Colorista!

Sunday, August 28, 2016
Crafter's Companion will be on HSN show this Tuesday! That means more products are coming your way including one of the most talked about products, the brand new Colorista line. Yes, it will be on HSN the same day! I bet you have been waiting for it for awhile now, so remember to check in on the 30th!

I colored one of the large markers pad page and made it into this card. I love the colors a lot. The colors are all from the Colorista pens and like the regular Spectrum Noir Markers, they are alcohol-ink based. You can see the coloring page is glittered! So sparkly! They came in different designs, some with glittered, foiled and some just regular coloring page. The pads came in different sizes too, A4 or 5 x 7".

The sentiment is from the Textured Wood Rubber Stamp set, it will be on HSN as well.

Supplies:
- A4 Spectrum Noir Colorista Premium Marker Pad (Glittered)
- Spectrum Noir Colorista Pens (Rose Blush, Maple, Coral, Canary, Nectarine, Burgundy, Foret Green, Pear Green, Orchid, Magenta)
- Crafter's Companion Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock
- Textured Words Rubber Stamps (Set 1)
- Spring Cornertastic Dies (Lattice)

First Day Of School Sign!

Friday, August 26, 2016
School starts in less than two weeks so lets make this First Day of School sign before the actual picture day!  This project is super easy to make, all you need to do is cut out the shapes in svg file provided and assemble them all the pieces together.
Someone looked really excited to go back to school! :) The lighting was a little too bright when I took the picture so it's difficult to see all the different colors especially the top of the pencil. And guess what, my son insisted to wear an orange shirt so picture turned out very "orangy". Oh well...

Direction:
Step 1: Download the svg file and cut the image. Following is the cut image on my silhouette studio.

Step 2: Followings are the cutouts from Step 1. Assemble the pieces together by following the number sequence below.

Here it is! Done! As easy as 1-2 without 3! I hope you enjoy this simple back to school project. - Alexia

LEGO Party Hat!

Wednesday, August 24, 2016
Yesterday was my son's birthday and I made this party hat for him (per his request) and it turned out exactly the way he wanted it. I'm so happy I was able to make this special for him. I had made party hats for my boy and girl for the past few years for their birthdays and it's joyful to see the smiles on their faces, priceless. That's the thing I love about crafting, to see someone enjoys the things I create.

So here is the party hat.... ta-da... I'm so glad I left him another wonderful memory. Happy Birthday my precious boy, I love you to the moon and back, forever and eternity.

Colorista Blog Hop!!

Tuesday, August 23, 2016
Welcome to the Crafter's Companion Colorista blog hop, I'm so happy you are joining in the fun! My team members and I will be sharing so much project ideas with you today creating with Colorista products!

The project I'm sharing today is this DIY journal. I first color the large size (A4) Colorista markers pad with Colorista pens and then cut the colored image into smaller size to create a 5 1/4" x 7" journal. I also prepare a stack of copy paper in the same size, divide them into four smaller equal stacks. Cut four 5 1/4" x 7" patterned cardstock to use as stack dividers.

I like to make my own journal because it allows you to personalize it and add special elements to it. For instance, I created a little keepsake pocket at the end of the journal to store little important things such as photos, notes, and other memorabilia.

Here is the complete list for the blog hop, make sure to stop by each blog and leave some love and who knows you just might be one of the lucky winners selected to win some fabulous Colorista goodies! I heard it will be more than one lucky winner for this hop! **hint hint**

Not gonna lie, this is my first Disney experience! ***blush*** My DH arranged this surprise to celebrate my birthday at Disney this year, so I'm so excited and grateful for his loving act. This is my kids' first experience at Disney too so I'm sure we will treasure this special moment for the rest of our lives. I made sure to include the Memory Maker in our package so we can take a lot of photos of us all (usually it's only me and the kids or my husband and the kids since one of us will be taking the photo!). I will share the experience with you as soon as we get back from the trip!

Back To School Drop-Off Mailbox For Teacher

Thursday, August 11, 2016
Bake to school time is close and what's more fun than welcoming the new school year with this adorable little drop-off mailbox for teacher? Let's make this mailbox together and stuff it with gifts or delicious goodies for your kid's teacher! It could also be used as a real drop-off box for mail, since the Esse cardstock used for this project is thick it's not a problem for storing letters.

Take a quick peek!

Mrs. Murphy was my son's Kindergarten teacher last year and sadly she will not be teaching at the same school this coming school year. So I made this and hope someday I can gift it to her. Check below for a full tutorial to create this cutie (SVG is provided!).

Directions:

Step 1: Download the svg file at the bottom of this post. Open your Silhouette designer studio and cut all the images. The total should be eight separate cut-out pieces.

Step 2: Take the two side pieces, cut the top of the curve to something as shown below.

Bend the result from Step 2 inward, fold along the dotted lines.

Step 3: Glue the other two side pieces (as shown in white cardstocks below) onto the inner part of result from Step 2:

Step 4: Take the front and back pieces (referring to the names in the svg file) and glue/connect them to the two side pieces. Tips: Glue from bottom-up.

This is how it should look like after this step.

Step 5: Apply a patterned paper over the front and back of mailbox, a regular 12 x 12 patterned paper will not be long enough so cut it into two separate pieces and glue them the same way the front and back pieces are glued in Step 4.

Step 6: Take the bottom piece to glue it to the bottom of mailbox, this keeps the mails in place.

Step 7: Take the back opening cover piece, fold along the dotted line and glue the folded part to the inside of the back opening window. Apply Velcro to snap the door/cover close.

This project requires some patience to put together all the pieces but the good thing is the machine will do the job cutting the pieces out for you! And you can make a lot of this mailboxes at once! I hope you enjoy this tutorial and love the project I share with you today! Have fun creating! - Alexia
