Letterpress Effect Using Metal Die

Friday, May 27, 2016
I'm back with another card using the same Cabbage Rose die I posted couple weeks ago, if you missed it - click here! Today I want to show you another way to use this die, this time we will print the pattern of the die on the card stock paper. Letterpress? Why not?!

To do this you will need a dauber and an ink pad of your choice. I love this pink and purple-ish color on my grey pattern card stock. Start by inking the inside of the die (where the cut line is), secure the die with a tape on the paper and run it through your cutting machine. The pressure will force the ink to print on the card stock paper. Again, this works best if you use thicker card stock paper.

TIPS:
- Apply even color on the die for a better result.
- Clean the die completely before you start with a different color.

Isn't the result just lovely?

Supplies:

I hope you like the card and I will return to share more inspiration with you! If you'd like to know more techniques to create using this die, let me know! Or share your projects with me, I'd love to see them! Thank you for visiting my post today and wish you a beautiful day! - Happy Crafting!

4th of July Stamp Sets

Wednesday, May 25, 2016
Looking for 4th of July Stamp Sets? They are now coming to Crafter's Companion website! I created this card with the the stamp sets listed at the end of post. I used the firework stamps with foils and they are perfect for creating customized background for card!

I chose black cardstock for the dark sky and colorful fireworks using gold, teal and pink color foils. This is my first time printing foils using my printer. You heard it right, my printer! I had tried foiling with my regular laminator but it doesn't work every time and I don't want to invest in the MINC machine which I heard it's pretty much another laminator except that it has power settings. So I gave this method a try and worked like a charm! Awesome..!!

Tips: Make sure you use laser printer, an inkjet printer will not work! If you are working with different colors of foils, simply cut the foil into small pieces and secure it with tape over the area you want to apply the foil. I only tape on one side of the foil (the side where cardstock is fed to the printer), taping both sides of foil might cause bubble trapped in the area to be foiled and ruin the outcome.

Supplies:

- Crafter's Companion Independence Stamp Set
- Crafter's Companion 4th of July Stamp Set

Other Supplies:
- Foils (Gold, Pink, Teal)
- Star Sequins

Have fun and good luck trying this out!

Scrapbook Layout with Love & Romance

Thursday, May 19, 2016
Sara's Signature Collection Love and Romance is here! I created this following layout with this collection and loved the paper and embellishments. The ribbon is so cute, don't you think? These are good for Valentine or day to day project.

As you can see, my daughter is a huge fan of Hello Kitty.... recently we even bought a Hello Kitty bike for her as she was ecstatic about it. I honestly don't remember when we actually introduced HK to her, it was like one day she woke and fell for it. :)

The flowers on the page are fuzzy cuts from the 6 x 6 paper pad

Card with Downtown Abby

Friday, May 13, 2016
Another card made with DA paper crafting collection by Crafter's Companion. If you are a Downtown Abby TV series fan then you are definitely going to fall in love with this collection. This collection includes not just the paper but cutting dies, embossing folders and other embellishments as well!

You don't need a lot of supplies to create this card, for the dimensions I used just a knife and ruler. Cut squares on patterned card stocks and layer them on top of each other. For better outcome, simply rotate the square so it looks like a diamond. For me I like both multi-layer and single layer card so this looks pretty cool to me, double-sided foam tape has always been one of my must-haves in card making. :)

All About Dad Home Decor - Free SVG Download

Tuesday, May 3, 2016

Hi all! I'm back today with a simple project for Father's day - it's a home decor frame with all things about dad. I love my dad very much although we didn't spend enough time together (he passed away when I was 14) but I always remember his love for all of his children, so kind, generous and unconditional. As much as I wish I could spend more time with him, I will forever treasure the memory I have of him in my heart.

I created this with my Cameo and Silhouette Design Studio. Check the end of post to download the svg file. However, the file I share with you is slightly different since I purchased the 'father and son' cut file from Silhouette Online Store, I'm not allowed to distribute the image due to licensing restrictions. But you can purchase from HERE if you are interested in the same design.

Directions:
Step 1: Download the svg file at the bottom of post, adjust image size to fit your picture frame and cut the the image with your Cameo.

NOTE: The shared SVG file will look like below, without 'father and son' image.

Step 2: If you purchased the same 'father and son' image from Silhouette Online Store, you can cut the image out and apply on the 'all about dad' wording cut file.

Step 3: Trim a light brown card stock to the size of your frame. Adhere both cut-outs together on a BASIS light brown card stock.

That's it! As easy as 1-2-3 and you have a cool looking home decor. You can use this as a gift for Father's day or your dad's birthday! I hope you enjoy this simple project I'm sharing this week!

Have a wonderful week!

Coaster with Verity Rose (Moonstruck Accessories)

I first paint the wood with Metallic paint then let it dry before I decorate it with the owl image and apply 2-3 layers of mod podge after (let dry between layers). Make sure to spray it with clear spray sealer after the mod podge is completely dry.

Other Supplies:
